We are honored by your interest in Liberty STEAM Charter School! LSC is a public charter school located in Sumter, SC that offers a STEAM-focused, project-based, and personalized learning model that is innovative and unlike any other school in South Carolina. LSC is open and tuition-free to all children with no special requirements for admittance, serving scholars from kindergarten through 12th grade.

Although we do not have any admission exams or interviews to admit scholars, we use a random, automated lottery when there are more scholars interested in attending than available classroom space.

Fall Lottery Application Period

October 1-November 30, 2023

To be held on Dec. 4 at 5:30 p.m., only if all waitlisted Scholars from the Dec. 2023 Lottery decline open seats. Currently,  there are nearly 300 Scholars Waitlisted for the 2024-2025 school year. â€‹

* Grade level denotes a full cohort of scholars who will be admitted not to exceed 144. 
** Grade level denotes current grade level at capacity whose number of available seats will be determined after the mid-year intent to return enrollment confirmations are received.

PLEASE NOTE

Waitlists DO NOT carry over from year-to-year and are only valid for the school year in which the student has applied. If a student is not accepted for the current school year and remains on the waiting list. 

​

You will need to reapply for the following school year in order to be considered for acceptance for the following school year. The lottery for the 2024-25 school year (serving grades K-4 across three campuses) opening October 1 and closes on November 30, 2023.  

 

To be properly considered, a new lottery application must be made.
