We are honored by your interest in Liberty STEAM Charter School! LSC is a public charter school located in Sumter, SC that offers a STEAM-focused, project-based, and personalized learning model that is innovative and unlike any other school in South Carolina. LSC is open and tuition-free to all children with no special requirements for admittance, serving scholars from kindergarten through 12th grade.

Although we do not have any admission exams or interviews to admit scholars, we use a random, automated lottery when there are more scholars interested in attending than available classroom space.

To date, we have received nearly 1,000 lottery applications in this year's lottery enrollment cycle. Because of this, a lottery will be held on Monday, December 2, at 5:30 p.m. Please take time to read through the Lottery FAQ.

Fall Lottery Application Period

October 1-November 30, 2024

To be held on Dec. 2 at 5:30 p.m. to determine the 144 new scholars to be admitted into the Kindergarten Class or 2037 and waitlist in random order applicants in grades 1-5 for any vacant seats that are determined through attention in the late spring or 2025.​

* Grade level denotes a full cohort of scholars who will be admitted not to exceed 144.

PLEASE NOTE

Waitlists DO NOT carry over from year-to-year and are only valid for the school year in which the student has applied. If a student is not accepted for the current school year and remains on the waiting list.

​

You will need to reapply for the following school year in order to be considered for acceptance for the following school year. The lottery for the 2025-26 school year (serving grades K-5 across two campuses) opening Opening October 1 and closing November 30, 2024. 

 

To be properly considered, a new lottery application must be made.
